In writing, just as in any other art, such as photography, there is a communication. This communication, no matter how simple or complex the story may be, must be simple in itself, and it must run through the story. It must ride through it, every chapter, scene, every sentence. And it is what guides and takes the writer through the writing of that story. If the writer has that, he will get the story written; if he doesn't have it, even if the story gets completed, there is no story. In this way, there can be truth and aliveness and reality in the story.
